In Cahoots! Episode 4: The Last Spooktacular Episode!

Hello everyone!

The next (and final) Spooktacular! episode is here, and I’m sorry it took so long for the newest episode to come to fruition. I get into the full explanation in the beginning of this episode, but basically it’s been a rough month overall, but I DID get a job, finally! I am the newest bookseller at my local Barnes & Noble, and I couldn’t be happier to just be working again. I’m saving up money in order to go to graduate school within the year, so that is a definite weight off my shoulders.

However, this episode is all about my favorite witchy stories, including Practical Magic, The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, and more! Go give it a listen to hear my witchy & spooky recs.

I also briefly talk about two of the Vlogtober vloggers that I kept up with this month:

The SunbeamsJess YouTube Channel, Jess’s Instagram account

The Alex and Dan YouTube Channel, Alex’s Insta account, Dan’s Insta account

Also be sure to check out the Spooktacular! playlist I made on Spotify for this spooky season earlier this month. I will be leaving it up on my Spotify account, so don’t worry about it going away if you’re enjoying the playlist (I hope you are!) I was thinking about possibly putting together larger monthly playlists like these instead of smaller splaylists for each episode like I was doing before. What are your thoughts?

You can listen to the In Cahoots! podcast on most places where you normally listen to your podcasts! Listen on Anchor, Spotify, Breaker, Google Podcasts, Pocket Casts, Radio Public, and SoundCloud! Hopefully I’ll be able to get the podcast on Itunes soon, too 🙂

And while you’re at it, go ahead and follow me on Instagram, my handle is @thegingerintrovert! I’ll be posting all about the podcast episodes coming up, my new poetry collection, Under The Pisces Moon, which is coming out on December 16th! Let me know if you liked this podcast episode, and what you would like to listen to me ramble about next!

Spooky Podcast Recommendations!

Hello everyone!

I am fully obsessed with podcasts, as you may have guessed. In addition to producing my own (CLICK HERE to check out the In Cahoots! podcast), I am constantly listening to podcasts while I drive, clean, write, etc. So, since this is spooky szn, I have been listening to a fair amount of spook-themed podcasts. Here are some of the ones I’ve been listening to recently:

The Art History Babes

This is one of my favorite podcasts of all time. Not only do they satisfy my longing for continuing art history education since I graduated from college (in case you didn’t know, I minored in art history), but they take Halloween VERY seriously. They’ve put out some super spooky content about haunted paintings, Momento Mori, and more! It is always a joy to listen to them, and I highly recommend this podcast, even if you’re not an art history aficionado!

Teen Creeps with Kelly Nugent and Lindsay Katai

This was a recent recommendation from a friend of mine, and I was instantly obsessed with this podcast! They’ve reviewed old chap-books from our childhood like R.L. Stine’s Goosebumps, and the like. It is such a fun podcast, and definitely a blast from the past with all the books and movies they discuss!

Let’s Talk about Myths, Baby!

This isn’t necessarily a super spooky podcast, but it’s all about Greek and Roman myths, which you have to admit can often be horrifying and disturbing in its own right! The episodes are short but pack a punch, and are super fun to listen to. Highly recommend if you’re a mythology geek like me!

The Strange and Unusual Podcast

I haven’t been listening to this podcast very long, but at the title aptly puts it, they discuss all things strange and unusual… monsters, hauntings, and all sorts of horrifying goodness! Since I just recently discovered this podcast, I’ve enjoyed delving more into the content.

Some more podcasts I found that I haven’t personally listened to but fully intend to now that I’ve discovered them:

Two Girls One Ghost

And That’s Why We Drink: A Paranormal and True Crime Podcast

Hillbilly Horror Stories

Weird Darkness: Stories of the Paranormal

Do you have any fun or spooky podcast recommendations? We would love to hear them! Leave them below in the comments, or come join the conversation over on my Instagram, @thegingerintrovert! I would love to hear any thoughts you have, or if you listened to any of my recommendations and loved them, too!

In Cahoots! Ep.3: Spooky Szn Kickoff!

Hello everyone!

In today’s episode of In Cahoots! with @thegingerintrovert, we will be reading some super spooky Gothic short stories… because our great-great-great-great grandparents did spooky season right–sitting around a fireplace and reading chilling stories to one another, because there was nothing better to do on a cold and damp evening in 1840. And today I’m bringing the custom back, by reading some of the most chilling short stories I could find.

Today, I read the classic Edgar Allan Poe short story, The Cask of Amontillado! However, I found so many other fun Gothic and spooky poems and short stories, that I will link some more intriguing ones below! I also found a great article by Bustle, focusing on ghost stories written by women! I will link them all below for your reading pleasure.

More spooky stories and articles to read:

10 Classic Ghost Stories By Women You Probably Haven’t Read Yet by Sadie Trombetta on Bustle

The Vampyre by John Polidori

“The Hag” by Robert Harrick

The Mummy’s Foot by Theophile Gautier

Mary Shelley and a list of her short stories

Bewitched and The Lady’s Maid’s Bell, both by Edith Wharton

And as always, click here to access the Spooktacular! Playlist, or scan this below:

Thank you so much for listening, and be sure to tune in next week for more Spooky Season content! You can currently listen on Anchor, Spotify, Google Podcasts, Breaker, Pocket Casts, and Soundcloud!
