Summer Favorites!

Happy Summer, Everyone!

Now that Memorial Day has passed, temps have skyrocketed, and colleges and schools are starting to end for the semester, I think we can safely say it’s summertime! So, I was thinking that in the place of my May favorites (although these basically kind of are), I thought that I would share all of the things I know that I’m going to be obsessed with this Summer!

Caked Liquid Lipstick

I got this in my May Ipsy bag (which is also a favorite… If you want me to do an Ipsy review or unboxing leave a comment!). The color is gorgeous, and it is pretty long lasting. The formula is pretty smooth as well, so it’s easy to apply.

L’Oreal Voluminous Lash Paradise

Guys. This mascara though. It is the BOMB! It makes my lashes so full and long, and it holds up all day. However, just a summery word of warning, this particular one is NOT waterproof! I speak from racoon-eyed experience.

Benefit’s Hoola bronzer

The Hoola bronzer is a classic, veering towards Holy Grail status. ‘Nuff said.

Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette

Again, this product is edging towards Holy Grail for me. Mostly because almost all of the colors in the palette are SO WEARABLE. Honestly. And the formula is so nice, and it applies so smoothly. It’s blendable. It’s smooth. It smells delicious, like peach. Excuse me while I go swoon over it some more…

Josie Maran Argan Oil

This stuff is so great for helping to battle frizz… I use on the ends of hair after blow drying and it works like a charm every time.

Ouai Wave Spray

This spray adds a nice texture to my hair. It can be a bit tricky, because sometimes if I use too much it can make me frizzier. But once I cut my hair again, this will be put to very good use!

Jelly Pong Pong eyeshadow duo

This is another pick from my May Ipsy bag. The duo has glittery copper and chocolate brown shadows that blend beautifully together. They’re what I’m going to reach for when I want to do ssomething simple, but I know will still look good. Paired with that Lash Paradise mascara? Best two minute eye makeup look ever.

Milani blush in Luminoso

I picked this up a little while ago after one of my favorite beauty gurus on Youtube, Jaclyn Hill, was raving about it. I saw it in Kmart a few times before finally caving and picking it up. Why did I wait so long?? This blush is absolutely GORGEOUS. It’s abeautiful vibrant deep pink that is so glittery that it layers so well with highlighters, and could even double as one. (If you’re feeling a deeper color that day. It is pretty pigmented.)

Swimsuit from Amazon

Since I’m going on a bunch of beach trips this summer, I wanted to find a new bathing suit. I looked online and at Target and nothing really tickled my fancy. Then a blogger I follow on Insta posted a picture of this swimsuit, and I knew I had to check it out! I fell in love instantly. Cute, strappy, high-waisted, and ONLY $15 with good reviews??? You best believe I smashed that “Add To Cart” button. Also, if you’re intrested in the cut but not the color, you’re in luck! Last time I checked, there were lots of colors to choose from. I might just be ordering another in a different color, because it”s so flattering.

Crash on My Couch Podcast

This is a great podcast to listen to on the plane, I knocked out three episodes during one flight on the way to Cali! Arden and Will are two of my favorite YouTubers. If you don’t know them you should definitely check them both out! They are the absolute cutest, and the definition of relationship goals!

Also, before I sign off, I have a quick and exciting announcement! I finally made an Instagram exclusively for this blog! If you’re not already following, go over to @thegingerintrovertblog in Insta now! I also changed my personal account to @liz_mcilhenney 🙂

Memorial Day Weekend Craziness!

Hello, everyone! Happy Summer!

I hope that everyone had a fun beginning to their summers, especially since most colleges are finished with their semesters, and high schools are beginning to end the school year as well! My Memorial Day weekend was pretty crazy, but the good kind, of course!

//SATURDAY//

Since I was traveling all day Sunday, Saturday pretty laid back. I spent most of my time with my parents, and packing up in preparation for my flight. I got to choose the final meal at home, so we had taco night, of course! Then we just watched Friends and Murdoch Mysteries on Netflix.

Packing up for my trip was pretty daunting, since I am spending two and a half weeks with my Aunt and Uncle in California. I packed up my biggest suitcase and carry on, as well as my new tote bag for my personal item. This is the first of many trips for me this summer, so I am planning on posting more travel content, which I’m so excited about!!

//SUNDAY//

Then, on Sunday, before heading to the airport, we met my boyfriend for some breakfast. It was so sweet of him to meet us, so that I could see him before I left! We had planned on going to a Friendly’s in a town that’s a good middle ground between both of our towns since we live about an hour and a half away from each other, but once we got there it was closed! So, we went for McDonalds instead XD I didn’t end up eating an awful lot since I was really nervous about traveling on an airplane by myself for the first time.

Once I got to the Philadelphia Airport, it wasn’t nearly as crowded as I thought t would be! There wasn’t a line for the check-in desk, as well as for security, which was amazing! My first fight was from Philly to Phoenix, which (other than an extremely intoxicated girl who I swear must have been a year or two younger than me) was pretty peaceful! I slept for most of it, and listened to Crash on my Couch podcasts when I wasn’t (and some when I was, haha!). Then I had an hour layover in Phoenix before boarding a plane to San Luis Obispo!

After landing in Cali, I reunited with my family there, which was so much fun! I got to see their new house and their yard, which has a beautiful pool as well. I also met their dog Tater, who is a beautiful chocolate lab and my new best (doggie) friend. We all had dinner together, and played Apples to Apples, before I took a shower and fell into bed. I swear, I was so exhausted that I must have fell asleep right as my head hit the pillow (which, if you know me, you know this NEVER happens to me!).

//MONDAY//

Memorial Day!! I hope you all had a very happy holiday, and I would like to thank all of the veterans who made the ultimate sacrifice so that we could all live in freedom, and have those wonderful beginning of the summer barbecues! Monday was my first full day in Cali, so that meant that it was JAM PACKED full of activity! My uncle was off of work, and we woke up bright and early for breakfast (coffee, coffee, coffee). Then we played a Pennsylvania Dutch board game called Der Shnickle Fritz, which is basically like checkers but more complicated and much more fun!

After that, we went to a trail near their house to ride dirt bikes and motorcycles, which was fun (albeit very dusty, haha!). Then, breakfast at a place called Joe’s, which had the best Chilequiles.  Then, back home, where I took a run around the development and ome of the trails nearby, whih was soo beautiful!! I swear, I took so many pictures, I would run 5 feet on the trail and then stop to take another picture!

After that I went swimming with my cousins, since it was in the 80’s and the 90’s, which meant that it was so refreshing to hop in the pool after a long run like I had!

To finish the day, we had a barbeque in celebration of Memorial Day. All in all, it was a relaxing night after a very busy day. I passed out early again… I’m thinking that this is going to be the running theme during this trip! But hey, I’m okay with that 🙂

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend! Happy Summer!!

Blushing for Spring

Hello everyone!

Spring is definitely upon us, and I’ve been loving it! Even if the last few days have felt more like summer… At least with the humidity. Hair has been getting frizzier day by day. Joy to the world, haha.

So if you read my April favorites post, you’ll know that one of my favorite things about Spring so far has been wearing blushy-pink. I’ve always loved wearing lighter colors and pastels after a long fall and winter of darker colors, but this season I think I’m a woman obsessed. Especially in the form of an off the shoulder shirt, like this one below!

wp-1492980018094.jpg

This has been one of my favorite outfits to wear so far this Spring! Light jeans and a fun, bright color shirt have been my favorite combinations, and this belt that I thrifted last year is the cherry on top. You can’t see it really well in this picture, but the belt has tooled detailing in the leather that I love! Also, the off the shoulder top is from TJ Maxx, from the See You Monday brand. I couldn’t find it online, but HERE’S a similar one! It’s so soft and comfortable, but the bell sleeves are the best. They make me feel like a Disney princess.

It may be Spring, but summer vacation is only one week away! To all my fellow college kids, good luck on finals! We’re so close!

April Favorites!

Hello Everyone!

I can’t believe it’s May already! Is it just me, or is this year going by insanely quickly?

April was a crazy busy month for me. It was the last full month of classes, so of course, that is when the bulk of the work was assigned, so I was running around like a madwoman trying to get everything done. However, there are only about 2 more weeks of school, and I’m so ready to be done!!

Theorie Marula Oil Transforming Hair Serum I got this serum in my Ipsy bag this month and I have been obsessed with it ever since. I put it in my hair when it’s wet, and it makes my hair so much smoother after I blow dry it.

These Steve Madden rose gold aviators are my favorite pair of sunglasses to wear in the Spring and the Summer. I got them at TJ Maxx a year ago so I couldn’t find them online, but HERE is a similar pair at H&M!

Too Faced Melted Metal lipstick in the shade Tu Tu. I have been wearing this every day… Or every day I’ve had the energy to put makeup on. It’s the end of the semester, y’all. It’s hard to get the gumption up anymore.

VS Sun Kissed shimmer body mist I also got this body mist a year ago, probably on the same shopping trip to be honest. I wore this all last summer and the scent reminds me of all those fun memories.

Formula 10.0.6 Mud Mask I got this at Target and I love the way this makes my skin feel, and it smells nice too!

Carli Bybel Eyeshadow and Highlighter Palette (pictured above). My friend Ellie (who is also a blogger, check out her amazing blog HERE :)) recommended this to me, and I am obsessed. I love mauve eyeshadow, and all of these shades are so wearable.

I have also been obsessed with blush tops. I went a little bananas on the blush, so here are a couple of the shirts that I got on a recent shopping trip. I’m posting an outfit post with one of these shirts soon, so stay tuned!

Also, I have been loving to watch Brittany Dawn Fitness‘s channel on YouTube while I’m on the elliptical at the gym. She is so knowledgeable about fitness, and her positive attitude and strong faith Christian is so refreshing!

So those were my favorites from this month! I’m hoping to make this more of a monthly habit, or at least for every month this summer.

XOXO
